Professional and Personalized Service Dog Training

Our service dog training program has three levels. With our trainers' guidance, you'll get clear, step-by-step plans for each behavior, along with tutorial videos and helpful flyers. After each level, your dog will be assessed to see if they're ready for the next step and can take AKC CGC evaluations.

The training time is flexible, so you can go at your own pace. Typically, it takes 6 months to a year, following IAADP guidelines. The time depends on your dog's age, your training schedule, how they respond, and any challenges they face. You'll spend about 120 hours training, including 30 hours in public settings, to finish the whole program.

"Medical Mutts was wonderful! Our son was diagnosed almost 3yrs ago with Epilepsy. We decided to find a local, reputable business that offered classes that were affordable and successful with their training. Raina has had some issues with anxiety in public, however the trainers were GREAT to help us with her. She knows when “her boy” is about to have a seizure and let’s us know! The training is intense, but it’s so worth it! All of the trainers are DEDICATED to helping you and your dog to become successful!"

How to get started?

Does Your Dog Qualify? Before enrolling in our classes, it's important to determine if your dog is a good service dog candidate.

Dog Assessment:

We welcome dogs as young as 6 months old. Prior to registration, all dogs must undergo a temperament and trainability evaluation. This assessment estimates your dog's potential as a service dog. It's crucial to understand that passing the evaluation doesn't guarantee program completion, as younger dogs may encounter challenges along the way. The evaluation fee is $120, and our specialist will assist you through the process.

If your puppy is too young for assessment and class enrollment, we offer weekly online sessions with our training experts to assist you until your puppy is ready.
